Project Alpha |
|
|
A National Program, since 1982, in partnership with March of Dimes dealing with preventing teenage pregnancy, responsible sexual behavior, sexually transmitted diseases, contraceptive issues, the legal and moral issues, and economic impact of a teen pregnancy. This program is design for teen males, 12 - 15 years of age. |

Go-To-High School , Go-To-College |

This national program, established in 1922, concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Young men through educational programs receive information and learn strategies that facilitate success. |

A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People |
|
|
Started in the 1930s, this is the fraternity's national program for voter education/registration. Across the country, chapters set-up registration booths during special events and conduct political educational forums. |
|

Big Brothers Big Sisters |
|
|
A relationship was started with BBBS in the 1990s to reinforce Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity mentoring programs and increase the pool of positive African-American male mentors for BBBS. |

Chapter Committees: |

Executive |
|
|
Comprised of all elected and appointed officers and committee chairs, it's duties are to review all proposed programs and activities for submission to general chapter. Sets fraternal year agenda of programs and activities. |

Membership Intake |
|
|
Responsible for coordination of the Membership Intake Process for the chapter; will conduct all chapter intake sessions or assist during intake clusters. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Education/Scholarship |
|
|
Conduct all educational programs by the chapter; administers the chapter's annual scholarship through the chapter's scholarship banquet. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Reclamation |
|
|
Responsible for the reclamation and retention of members. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Brother's Keeper |
|
|
Keep the brotherhood abreast of the daily activities and events in the lives of the brothers. |
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
Omega Services & Benevolence |
|
|
Perform the fraternity's memorial services for deceased brothers; send cards and flowers to brothers or spouses. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Audit |
|
|
Audits chapter's record book for financial transactions during a fraternal year. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Budget |
|
|
Develops chapter's budget for fraternal fiscal year, sets agenda dues collection and fundraising. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Investment |
|
|
Makes all chapter investment after approval from Executive Committee. Keeps records of all chapter investments and advises the chapter on all related matters. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Housing |
|
|
Responsible for researching and finding suitable chapter/frat house, develop and secure funding source and develop revenue. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Pan-Hellenic |
|
|
Chapter representation at all Pan-Hellenic meetings and activities; advises the chapter of various programs. |

|
|
BGL's Newsletter |
|
|
Periodic publication of the chapter's activities, special recognition and awards, along with individual brothers. |
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
Social |
|
|
Preparation of chapter's annual Black & Gold Ball in February; prepares other events for enjoyment and entertainment of chapter, guests and/or the community. |
